The starter type you have selected is the 40MT design

Please review the starters presented below and then select the proper application for your vehicle's engine.

DATA BOX

In order to make the exact choice, please be sure to answer the following questions about your application:

  1. Does your starter have the same dimensions as shown?
  2. What is the voltage of your vehicle system? It has to be either 12 or 24.
  3. How many teeth are on the starter drive. The most popular will be either 11 or 12.

These units are the old style Delco type heavy duty starting motor. They are no longer in production (the last was manufactured sometime in the late 1980's). Any 40MT type starter may be interchanged to a 42MT type as long as the system voltage and the number of teeth in the drive pinion is the same.

Starter type Voltage Teeth Part #
40MT 12 11 401211
40MT 12 12 401212
40MT 24 11 402411
40MT 24 12 402412
